There are many ways of doing low-carb and some of these are plain wrong. If they thought it would be a quick hack to lose weight fast and then go back and eat all the pies, then they would be wrong. AKA Move your butt! Increased calorie burns= dieting on more calories. ok to have "sometimes", but I would see how well you moderate them. Reduce reward value of diet ie less cookies, brownies, candy, soda, burgers, fries, ect.

ie lean meats, dairy, legumes.(kinda generic, because I have no details on you) I suggest you find a lifestyle that helps you decrease calories and can be sustain with the least amount of effort and will power in the long term. hyperpalatable\energy dense combinations of fat and carbs.

What it does usually is, increases protein(protein is the most satiating nutrient per energy unit), increases fiber(DT an increase in non starchy veggies), and eliminates many "problem" foods for some, (I.E. Low carb can be effective, but its not because of the magic "insulin" Fairy. SOME people find low carb effective for blunting appetite and allowing them to lower calories without too much suffering.
